REVLON Sheer Seafoam, WTF!? & A Jelly Sandwhich Tutorial

Pin It I get a lot of questions on Instagram about Revlon Sheer Seafoam and how to use it. I also get questions about a jelly sammich tutorial! Sooo I guess this is killing 2 birds with 1 stone?

Revlon Sheer Seafoam

As you know, or don't know haha, Revlon Sheer Seafoam is very, VERY SHEER. You might even be able to tell by just looking at the bottle it is a jelly polish.

I knew it was going to be sheer when I picked it up "oohing" and "ahhhing" over it in Walgreen's in April. I bought it specifically to make jelly sandwiches with! Since posting a picture of my find on IG I've been asked many a times how to go about using this polish. Here are my Sheer Seafoam Solutions:

1) Jelly sandwiching (which I'll show you today)
2) A sheer touch of color on your nails (why? Idk lol)
3) Layer it over a white to get the polish's color and a squishy look
4) Layer it over another color to change the color/look/finish/what have you of the base polish
5) Apply 20+ layers (guesstimate) to get the polish opaque on the nail

So! Onto my jelly sandwich tutorial for Sheer Seafoam!

Here are the polishes I used:

- Wet n Wild I Need a Re-Fresh Mint
- Spoiled Jewelry Heist (which I'm VERY thankful for the fact this isn't all base like its glitter sister Spoiled Pet My Peacock, which I threw in a corner my bedroom in frustration lol)
- Revlon Sheer Seafoam

And here is my little 4 step tutorial :D

1) Apply Wet n Wild I Need a Re-Fresh Mint and 1 layer of Spoiled Jewelry Heist
2) Apply 2 coats of Revlon Sheer Seafoam
3) Once the Sheer Seafoam layers are dry, apply another layer of Spoiled Jewelry Heist
4) Finally, apply your final 2 layers of  Revlon Sheer Seafoam to complete the sandwich!

Easy peasy pie, just gotta have some drying time patience (which I assume you have if you bought Revlon Sheer Seafoam haha). If you're still wtf-ing at what a jelly sandwhich might be, it's nothing but layering a jelly polish and a glitter polish! And, a jelly polish is usually a more sheer polish with a plastic, squishy-like finish to it. Here is the final look!

Jelly sandwich technique using Revlon Sheer Seafoam

Pretty nifty, huh? I LOVE jelly sandwiching. I'm happy I was able to find a blue colored polish to do it with! What do you think about this look? It has become seemingly popular over the past few months.

Hope you enjoyed!

Until tomorrow,
Lacey

  1. Lol at the nine coats ^^ up there. What a gross polish on it's own. But it looks great with what you did up there!

  2. I love how that looks! I've never thought of applying more glitter and then another coat of a sheer polish though. It add a lot more depth. I may have to try it soon :)
