Barielle Spring Velvets Collection (L->R) A Little Exotic, Sexy Mood,
My Tan Blazer, Uptown Girl, My Week Away and Cream n Sugar

I think this is the first time in the history of Lace & Lacquers that I'm posting at 9 PM (PST, 12 AM EST hahahah) but I REALLLLY wanted to show you The Barielle Spring Velvets Collection. I honestly couldn't wait until tomorrow :P Check out swatches of these babies plus some simple nail art after the jump!

So a few months ago I gave away a color pretty similar to this, and last month I regretted doing so after I realized my mistake! Anywho - A Little Exotic is a "muted, rusty rose" creme. It seems like such an odd color, but it is pretty and unique to me :] Not a color I'd expect to see in a spring collection, but I'm happy it's here!

I did 2 coats of A Little Exotic. The application was smooth and easy to work with. I didn't have any dry time issues either. Great way to start off a collection, eh?

Barielle Sexy Mood

This is one of my favorites in the collection. Sexy Mood is a "muted magenta" creme. I have a thing for purpley (and dust/muted) polishes so it doesn't surprise me I love this :P Plus I really like how it looks against my skin tone!

I did 2 coats of Sexy Mood. I again didn't run into any issues with application or dry time. The polish formula was identical to A Little Exotic.

Barielle My Tan Blazer

Barielle My Tan Blazer

My Tan Blazer is a "tan, caramel color" creme. I feel like this is a ugly/pretty, pretty/ugly color, but still a basic color. I can't quite decide how I like this on me just yet, but I'll totally keep it around for nail art purposes :P

I did 2 coats, 3 on some nails, of My Tan Blazer. The only reason I needed 3 coats on some is due to the bends I have in my nails, they create balding sometimes since they're quite prominent. Anyways - No issues with this polish. The application, besides my stupid curves, was without problems along with the great dry time.

Barielle Uptown Girl

Uptown Girl is a "soft beige" creme polish. It almost reminds me of Zoya Jacqueline but this has a smidge of pink to it, I think. Great basic color to have, probably something I'd stick nail art on top of or use as an accent in nail art haha I think I like it on me, but I like it mixed even more :P

I did 3 coats of Uptown Girl. The application was smooth and I didn't have any issues. The dry time wasn't like the other 3 polishes, I'd recommend waiting in between coats to allow it to dry.

Barielle My Week Away

My Week Away is a "dusty pink" creme, one of the only two types of pinks I can tolerate on my nails :P It also has some pretty gold shimmer (the only polish with shimmer in this collection) which makes it bearable. It's not super obvious shimmer, but it's there.

I did 2 coats of My Week Away. My Week Away was a better formula than Uptown Girl, more like the others. The application was smooth and without issues. The dry time was great and I have no complaints :]

Barielle Cream n Sugar

Barielle Cream n Sugar

Last but not least is Cream n Sugar which is a "sheer, soft pink", which falls under my definition of a French mani color. I can't think of any other uses for something so sheer, what about you? lol Maybe I'm just not thinking hard enough!

I did 3 coats of Cream n Sugar. I'm sure I could of done more to build up opacity but it would of gone past my limit o' toleration for coat-age. I did wait between coats to allow it to dry since I figured like every other sheer polish I run into takes longer to dry when building it up. No issues when I took that into consideration :] Application was smooth and easy to work with

French manicure using Barielle Cream n Sugar
Gradient using Barielle A Little Exotic and My Week Away

Here are the two simple nail art looks I came up with for this collection. As you can see, Cream n Sugar is a great French mani color! Totally erased all my stains and white marks in my nails.

I did a quick sponge gradient with A Little Exotic and My Week Away. I'm not sure how I like tese colors together but they seemed to fit quite nicely with one another :]
