Influenster J'adore VoxBox

Better late than never, eh? :P Today I FINALLY have my blog review of the J'adore VoxBox via Influenster. I posted my "first impressions" video about 2 weeks ago, if you missed me and Hannah Lebron checking out the items - you can see the video here! Check out my full review/thoughts on the items in this box after the jump.

Boots Botanics Shine Away Ionic Clay Mask $9.39

I was dreading trying out this mask to be honest... when I opened to to see what it smelled like, muddy water exploded all over me and everything around me :[ This mask is meant to be used on normal skin and it features an "unscented, hypo-allergenic formula that absorbs excess oil and deeply cleanses skin". This clay mask (somehow) has a "negative electrical charge, which helps draw out impurities without overdrying".

I have normal to dry skin, I was iffy about trying it and it being too harsh. But, for the sake of trial and error, because it's unscented, hypo-allergenic, and claims it isn't over drying - I said "why the hell not!" It was a LOT more watery in consistency than I'm used to when it comes to a mask. I used my mask bowl/brush set to apply it. I dried quicker than most masks I use, I'm guessing because it's so thin. It washed off a lot easier than other masks as well. Thankfully it didn't dry out my face! My face looks clean and refreshed. I will be trying this out again to see if I'm going to commit to buying the $10 bottle.

Hershey's Kisses Milk Chocolates $5.29 (18.5 oz)/$3.28 (11 oz)
Classic Hershey Kisses! I'm notttttttttt a chocolate person at all whatsoever. If I do eat chocolate, it either has peanut butter or it's dark chocolate. However, I do like Hershey's kisses when I need a quick somethin' somethin' to kill my sweet tooth, without overindulging.

Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight Flat Iron Spray $9.99

Here we go, another hair product! Haha I always feel awkward reviewing hair products because I just do what works for me. I hardly deviate from my regular routine... at least you know I'm being honest, walking into all this blind hahaha.

This is a heat activated formula that is meant to provide you with long lasting straight hair as long as 3 days. The formula is meant to protect against heat damage, block frizz, not weigh hair down, and provide a glossy, smooth look.

I was about to go to bed with my wet, air dried hair (as I do every other day), when I figured i'd read the instructions for this product. GLAD I DID, you have to apply this to WET hair and blow dry it out. That was kind of a let down for me. I hardly use any heat on my hair, maybe once a month? If even?  So alright - I gave in and did it. No matter how much it killed my soul/I wanted to go to bed :P

Here are my results:

Right after application of Frizz Ease 3-Day Straight Flat Iron Spray
The next morning, after sleeping on my straight hair. Eeks!
After I redid my "straight: hair. I applied the spray on dry hair and then
flat ironed it.
My results by the end of day 3

All in all it did what it said. I have wavy/slightly curly frizzy hair so day 3 was pretty darn straight for me. The only disappointment for me was when I woke up on morning of day 2. Although it said to use the spray on wet hair, I sprayed it on my dry hair and flat ironed it through. I honestly think that made the difference between day 2 morning and day 3 morning. My hair wasn't BOARD straight, but straight enough for me ;] I don't think I'll be purchasing this product again though.

Red Rose Simply Indulgent Teas $4.49 for 20 bags

I'm not a BIG at home tea drinker, I'm a Starbucks whore... sooo... you can also lump Teavana into that mix :P I received Lemon Chiffon decaffeinated and Creme Caramel teas. Sorry, I can't do decaffeinated anything - it goes against everything I believe in life lmfao ;] Not to mention... the flavor didn't appeal to me and reminded me of some sort of something you take when you're sick.

I did try the Creme Caramel with Hannah. If you watched the video, you get my quite authentic reaction to this tea LOL. The idea of the tea is nice, but the flavor wasn't there for me. Soaked it short, soaked it long it was a weak flavor. I think if it was a loose leaf tea it would of been a nicer flavor. In addition, I prefer Chai-like teas over to something super sweet. This one tasted like a caramel macchiato, which I'd rather have over tea :P

Vaseline Men Spray Lotion $7.99
Vaseline Men Spray Lotion $7.99

This was probably the biggest let down for me out of all the products. My husband NEEEEVER wears lotion, so it was up to me to test this thang out! I didn't mind, I was panning on buying the regular Vaseline version anyways. This lotion features most of their claims. It is fast absorbing and easy to apply. It isn't tacky or greasy. You feel instantly moisturized - BUT - it doesn't last long, at least for me.

I have wicked dry skin. I combat eczema on my hands and ankles, but the rest of my body is dry as a bone. I'm constantly am using lotion to moisturize my skin. I thought this spray product would be great to spray and go when I'm out the door, when I don't have time to sit down and apply lotions. Maybe it's because my skin isn't "normal" but after 10-15 minutes, my skin was freakin' dry as hell again! :[ I never, ever believe these "24 hour" claims to work on me, and I wasn't expecting this one to, but this was a huge let down. I'm assuming it's because the formula is very thin and almost water-like.

So, if you're someone, a guy or gal, with normal skin - it's worth a shot. Anyone with super dry skin, I'm not so sure this is the best source of moisture. I know I won't be wasting money on trying the regular Vaseline (or St. Ives) versions of this spray lotion.

  1. I had a similar experience with the Boots mask, though a better one with the KISS lashes. I'm sorry to hear the Vaseline spray didn't work much at all! :(
