MADAM GLAM: Sparkly Autumn - Soak-Off Gel Polish Review

So here's a product I haven't reviewed in a really, really long time - gel nail polish! I reviewed a few items from Madam Glam last week. They also sent me a sample of their Soak-Off Gel Polish. I chose the shade called Sparkly Autumn. Check out my review and swatches after the jump :]

I really love how the tops of their caps show a preview of the polish. Makes it easier to find it in a drawer. I wish every polish brand did this!

Sparkly Autumn is a deep purple base with micro flakies that shift from purple to an olive green. I love how gorgeous this is! It's dark and sparkly and the color shifting flakies really makes this polish awesome. I found myself staring at my nails at lunch last week :P

I did 2 coats of Sparkly Autumn. The formula was a little on the thicker side, but it was opaque so it easy to build up.

I wasn't provided any instructions or other gel related top coats, base coats, cleansers, remover, etc... I frequently use SensatioNail's gel system at home (with other gel polish brands) and just used those products and their steps along with the Madam Glam polish I was provided.

(Guys - I feel really freakin' stupid because I feel like I've scoured their website, CTRL+F'ed up the ying yang, yet I can't find instructions for their gel line anywhere... until I Googled and somehow came across a "Beginner's Kit"... that's actually out of stock? *shrugs* I can't even find a top coat OR base coat listing for sale? Or is this it? I don't even know what this is LOL. They have a Gel Kit listing but I don't even see a base or top coat in that. I feel like I'm going crazy, y'all!)

I'm not sure if it was because of the use of Sensationail products, but the application wasn't my favorite gel polish application: The polish kept retracting from the sides of my nails before I got my nails under the lamp which required touch ups and quick movements. After putting my nails in for the recommended 30 seconds/coat (LED lamp - per the polish's listing), I feel like some nails didn't dry 100%. I eventually got them to dry despite a few dents on 2 nails from when I removed the sticky layer. :[

Whatever - I rocked them for 5 days haha. The polish was very pretty and I did get compliments! I did notice some slight tip wear after day #1, which was a huge letdown. Come day #5 it had to be removed, it looked really worn. I'm not sure where the 3 week wear claim comes into play or what products were used but it wasn't with the ones I already owned LOL. :-\

I used the foil method with acetone soaked cotton balls to remove the gel polish. The polish removed easily after 5 minutes of soaking with very minimal scraping... so that's a plus lol

Price: $19.95 Gel Polish
Where to Find: Website

Again, I'm not sure of my lack of compatible products came into play here or what exactly went wrong. I've used SensatioNail's line with other gel brands without issue so I didn't think I'd run into any problems... For $19.95/bottle I'd recommend somehow getting your hands on their personal base/top coat for (possibly) the best wear results.

The user not-so-friendly website is a big letdown to me, which you can also lump together some inaccurate swatch photos/polish close ups/polish descriptions into that as well. I addressed this briefly in my last post. I hope they update their website to make products easier to find, a search bar would be nice.

Sorry Madam Glam, this is a bust for me... Thoughts?
