BLOGOWEEN DAY #3: The Shining

It's day 3 of Blogoween, ya'll! I'm loving this mini series, I hope you guys are, too! Don't forget to check the other manis I've done for Blogoween - here!

Today's theme is The Shining. I don't like horror movies at all! I have a horrible memory, but scary movie scenes stick in my head for MONTHS. However, I loveeeee The Shining. This is the only horror movie I can stand, and watch like 500 times. I happened to see it about 2 years ago, home alone, at midnight and I was like O.O the whole time. #amazing. ONWARD!

I'm super happy how this came out! If you follow me on Facebook, you know I attempted to do Jack busting through the door on my pinky... hahahhahahahahahahahah - I ended up just doing an axe ;] over a blood red base.

On my ring finger, I did the scene when Danny writes "redrum" on the door using 2 nude shades from Zoya and a dark, bloody, lipstick red for the words.

On my middle finger, I did the geometric hallway carpet. I mixed a few polishes to get the dark burnt orange, how do I not have that color in my arsenal? Surprisingly, I did this in one take, crazy town.

Last but not least, on my index finger, I did the famous twins! I'm damn proud of doing this LOL I was worried it would come out horribly. So there ya go - some bloody children in dresses.

I did some creepy dripping blood using a detailing brush and Killer Queen Varnish Red Red Wine (swatched here!) over China Glaze Immortal. I knew the minute I swatched it, I wanted to create this manicure. I kinda wish I didn't do the dripping, but it is what it is. I really like Red Red Wine and Immortal together though!

My first attempt was with Red Red Wine and Zoya Storm. The idea was nice in my head, but sadly Storm was too dark to see the dark red "blood". It was even harder to see in person than in my picture. Bad news bears. I did like my drips better though... I think... only because I could hardly see them LMFAO!

Hope you enjoyed this creepy mani! Can't wait to show you what I might come up with on Friday! I say might, in case I mess it up bahahahhahaha. Hey guys! I ran this idea on my Facebook page last week: Blogoween! I know YouTubers (mainly Grav3yardgirl) do Vlogoween. I figured it would be kind of cool to do the same idea, but for my blog! So each Monday and Friday, until I run out of ideas lmfao, I will be posting Halloween themed nail art! Hope you enjoy this mini series :] Happy haunting! <3

I've been wanting to do this mani for so long, ever since I did these Easter Peeps nails! It was super easy to create, I'm pleased with the look of my baby ghost nails. I used Wet n Wild Megalast Venomous Vixen (an LE from 2012). To create the ghosts I used a larger dotting tool for their "heads" and then a smaller dotting tool to create their "bottoms". I just moved the smaller tool around to form a ghost shape? LOL does that make sense?! I did try to make them look a little different, not all ghosts are the same y'all - GOSH. Two little eyes with black polish and the tiniest dotting tool I have finished these babies off :]

In the last picture, in the set above, I added a matte top coat. I think it looks perfect with the matte top coat! It just gives it a little something extra that my baby ghosts needed!

Abstract Ghostbusters nail art

So I have a friend, *cough*Enjeliqua*cough*, who may or may not be obsessed with Ghostbusters - I don't blame her haha those movies are awesome! Well, her name popped up on my Facebook feed so I couldn't resist doing an abstract Ghostbusters mani with my baby ghosts! I ended up throwing some bright green slime (Sinful Colors Innocent) and a that famous red symbol - 'cause I ain't afraid of no ghost, ya'll.
