Radiant Orchid and Outer Limits |
I hope ya'll aren't tired of You Polish reviews yet haha. Today I have the Holos For a Bright New Year Collection/January Box to share with you! I think we can all agree there is never enough holo polish in this world :P After the jump I have swatch and reviews for you!

You Polish Valiant Effort |
Valiant Effort is a medium purple linear holo polish. I don't have many purple holos, I actually don't think I have any, so I opened this one with open arms. I really like this shade of purple!
I did 2 coats of Valiant Effort. I didn't have any issues with application, it was nice and smooth and easy to work with. The dry time was also without problems. No complaints!

You Polish Mermaid Charm |
Mermaid Charm is a light minty, seafoam linear holographic polish. I think this seafoam polish leans a little toward the grey side. This is a color that never gets old, at least for me it doesn't haha.
I did 2 coats of Mermaid Charm. Like Valiant Effort, I had no issues with application or dry time. It was easy to apply and work with.

You Polish Gravender Aura (PLEASE excuse the bubbles. it is NOT from
You Polish's polish it is the top coat I used.) |
Gravender Aura (I JUST understood where the name came from LMFAO) is a lavender grey-ish holo. I can honestly say that I do not have ANY color like this in my collection of many-a-polish. I have a lot of grey blues, some darker grey purples, but no grey lavenders. The holo is subtle, not a INYOFACE linear holo. Some people like that, some people don't - it is what it is! I like both haha
I did 2 coats of Gravender Aura, plus A Girl Obsessed's Top Coat which I've been trying out lately. Sadly, the top coat made the polish bubble after I applied it. :[ But You Polish's polish DOES NOT BUBBLE. Anyways, the application was alright to me. It was smooth but I had problems with it looking "even" on my nail, which is why I applied the top coat to hide that. Dry time was alright, it was like that of a white creme polish so I'd wait between coats.

You Polish Radiant Orchid |
Radiant Orchid, bearing the name of the 2014 Pantone color of the year, is as Pantone describes as a "
harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones". I think Lauren captured the color quite nicely in this linear holo polish.
I did 2 coats of Radiant Orachid. Application was more like the first two polishes: Smooth application, easy to work with and without problems. Dry time was also great.

You Polish Outer Limits |
Outer Limits is a charcoal, greyish black linear holo. Not one of my favorite shades of polish, but I can safely say that this color looks badass with Spectraflair!
I did 2 coats of Outer Limits. Looking at the macro I'm wondering if I should of done 3? I didn't have any application issues or dry time issues. No issues here!

Outer Limits and Radiant Orchid gradient |
I decided to play around with the polishes and I sponged some Radiant Orchid over Outer Limits to make a cool looking gradient! I bet all of these polishes would make some awesome gradients!
You can find these polishes for $9 in her store, or for $17.99 (US) shipped in the January Sub Box for 2 polishes from this collection and a goodie!
Have a great weekend!

ReplyDeleteHappy holidays!!
The two last are my favoritis, and the gradient is lovely!
ReplyDeleteOh, that gradient. I've challenged myself to do a new technique every month and this month is gradient. Never thought to do one with holos. Great idea. Gotta go stash shopping now.
