Howdy, ya'll! Today I have the first half of the Wicked West Collection from Ruby Wing! If you're unfamiliar with Ruby Wing, these are solar color changing polishes made by Solar Club. ANDDD they're awesome. I can't wait to share this collection with you. Check out these 3 and some nail art after the jump! :]

Wanted Dead or Alive is a shimmery bright blue indoors that changes to a darker, tealy, shimmery blue in the sunlight. The sunlight color is gorgeous! I was most excited to try this one, and although the change is subtle, it's my favorite of these 3.

I did 2 coats of Wanted Dead or Alive. It gave me no issues upon application and dry time. :]

Tumbleweeds is a bright chartreuse inside and outdoors it changes to a (baby food color LOL jk) army green shade. I didn't really like the darker green at first but it grew on me, especially paired with the other colors in this post.

I did 3 coats of Tumbleweeds. I thought I could of got away with 2, but bald spots appeared after the 2 coats dried. Application was great and gave me no issues. Dry time was also without problems.

Obviously Ride 'Em Cowgirl is the most extreme changer in this post. It is a clear base indoors, with gold glitter and shards of silver. Outdoors, the clear base turns to a rich ruby red. I don't think i was a fan of this color change. It just doesn't look pretty to me (personally) when it changes. But I like it when it's indoors LOL. Good thing I'm a hermit :P

I did 2 coats of Ride 'Em Cowgirl. It was a great application with tons of glitter in 1 coat. I did dab around the silver shards to keep them from being in one place. Otherwise no issues. Dry time was the best out of the 3.

I decided to do a little nail arty with these color changin' polishes! I tried 3 different designs lmao and all failed but this one. I think the hearts are fun! I must admit... these polishes are NO fun to work with when it comes to nail art. It dries really quickly and becomes kinda sticky and almost rubbery :-\ If you're going to work with these for nail art, I recommend adding acetone to it as it gets sticky VS adding more polish to the "pile". :] {EDIT: For clarification... Do not add the acetone to the bottle lol, add it to the small puddle on your palate you're using for your nail art.)

  1. NEVER add acetone to polish!! Use thinner but never acetone or remover. That will destroy the polish.

    1. Oh no, no, not in the bottle! I'd never haha. I added it as I used it in my art - to the puddle of polish you work with when you're doing art.
