I haven't done a "the list" manicure for awhile. If you're new to L&L, "the list" is a list of manicure suggestions that I was given during a giveaway. I decided to make a list of them and work my way down as a way for me to continually practice my nail art! If you're interested in what is on "the list" you can find a picture of it, here.

So, I figured today would be a perfect day for a US Navy inspired mani! Ironically, the next suggestion on the list was Navy inspired.

Domestic Violence Awareness - "Break Silence" Stamping Manicure

October, October. A month of Halloween and best known for breast cancer awareness month. Often, because those are so widely known, other awarenesses that share October are overlooked. You can find a list of awareness months here.

The ones, besides breast cancer awareness, that stand out to me the most for October are Adopt a Shelter Dog Month, Infant Loss Awareness, Bully Prevention and Domestic Violence Awareness.

So, today's "the list" manicure is inspired by Domestic Violence Awareness in October.


Like my Go Pink Monday posts, I present you with facts:

1) "Domestic violence is the leading cause of injury to women between the ages of 15 and 44 in the United States, more than car accidents, muggings, and rapes combined". Source

2) "1 in 4 women will experience domestic violence in her lifetime". Source

3) "1 in 10 calls made to alert police of domestic violence is placed by a child in the home". Source

Pin It SO I asked my lover-ly Facebook fans if they would like Indie swatches or nail art! It was a pretty good mix of one or the other, but one pretty lady suggested a mix of the two. So that's what I have for you today, a manicure from "the list" with an Indie!

So, the next nail art suggestion on "the list" was dots. I have been wanting to do a gradient dot manicure for awhile so, I figured this would be the perfect time to try it out!

Pin It Hmmm it's been awhile since I did some nail art from "the list"! Now that we're semi settled into our new apartment and my nail stuff is unpacked, I can finally get down to business!

If you're new to my blog (*waves*!) and aren't familiar with "the list", pretty much - in a previous giveaway I asked for nail art suggestions. Welp, those suggestions ended up forming "the list", where I am going top to bottom doing them all :]
