You Polish Not So Halloween-y Collection

Today I have You Polish's Not So Halloween-y Collection, which just released last night, to share with you guys! While talking with Lauren, she told me that the idea behind this collection is to have polishes appropriate for Halloween, but also appropriate to wear year round. Which to me, is a good idea. With indies releasing collections around holidays, I don't know about you, but I have a lot of polishes I can only wear during those holidays. Soooo, without further adieu, let me show you these polishes.

I think this is one out of the 2 most "Halloween-y" polishes in the collection. Vamp It Up is a red-"wine colored base with brown, orange and purple holographic glitters". A very bloody, sparkly, jelly polish. The glitters and the base give off a lot of depth when layered.

I did 2 coats of Vamp It Up. The application was without problems and was smooth. The dry time was also good. No issues with this one :]

You Polish Ghoul's Night Out is a "bright pink base with orange and holographic glitters". This is a HOTHOT pink jelly polish, can't say I have one this bright. The layering isn't as dementional as the red, but the jelly color is pretty cool to me.

I did 2 coats of Ghoul's Night Out. I didn't have any application issues. Some of the larger glitters had to be fished out, but a stir or 3 before painting will do it some good. The dry time was that of a typical jelly, so I would wait between coats.

As a warning, I experienced pretty bad staining while swatching this polish. I did not use a base coat, as I do not when I swatch. I had the polish on for about 10 minutes and the staining was quite extreme. Lauren tried it with a base coat and the staining was still problematic. I would recommend a white or nude colored polish, something that can create a better barrier between your polish and your nail to prevent staining. Lauren has noted this on the listing and will be discontinuing this polish after her Sub Box releases. For some people this may be an issue, which is understandable. I just buff the crap out of stains lmfao

Zombie Boogie is a green-yellow, "more than a scattered but less than linear holo".  I really like this color. It's quite a unique color and the holographic-ness doesn't hurt either! Plus, the name cracks me up and I love zombies :P

I did 2 coats of Zombie Boogie, which made me happy because I was expecting 3! I didn't have any issues with this polish application and I have no complaints about the dry time.

I think shaped glitter is one of the biggest things in the indie world at the moment. Everyone seems to be in a little tizzy about them haha, I can understand why, of course. Calaveritas is a "clear base with pink, black, gray and white dots, squares, hexagons and pink and white skull glitters". I didn't think I'd like the midget stick figure skull glitters, but I think they actually look pretty neat!

I did 2 coats of Calaveritas over Zoya Mira. Naturally, the skulls need some fishing but it really is worth it in the end. The application, besides the fishing, was fine and gave me no issues. The bubbles you see, is probably from me tryign to get the skulls to suspend better lmao. The dry time was fine, next time I think I'll wait between coats, I was a little impatient and I had some pulling. OOPS!

This is the other polish that is more Halloween themed than the rest. After Midnight is a "black base containing orange, purple and tons of silver micro glitter". Def Halloween-y without being a too in your face holiday polish.

I did 2 coats of After Midnight. The application was great and gave me no issues, smooth and dried in good time. Zero complaints from me on this one!
