YOU POLISH: The STARjelly Collection

You Polish STARjelly Collection
Ello, there! Today I have swatches of You Polish's STARjelly Collection. I have a love/hate relationship with indie jelly polishes. No offense to anyone, but it doesn't seem like making jelly polishes is every maker's forte. Y'know? Since the first time I reviewed for You Polish (then Makeup Your Face) last summer, until today - her jelly polish formulas have been on point. I was super excited to try these out! Jump over and check out the swatches and review, they're pretty great!

Que the macros:

First up is STARgazer:

CIRRRRCLEEE GLITTERRRRZZZ! :D STARgazer is an orange jelly base with gold circles, orange hex, smaller orange and yellow hex, micro gold glitter, silver squares, gold stars and blue stars. Quite a combo. I didn't get any blue stars on my nail, booo! haha What I like about Lauren's jellies is that they're always buildable in just a few coats. Makes me a happy camper.

I did 2 coats of STARgazer, no undies. The application was smooth and dried decently quick for a jelly. I didn't fish for any stars, but only ended up with 2 on one nail haha.

I apologize for my pinky being messy, I didn't realize until now haha. kickSTARter is a dark green jelly base with a ton of different colored glitter! Green circle glitter, iridescent square glitter, purple and gold square glitter, fuchsia hex, gold micro glitter, iridescent bar glitter, and purple stars. I'm loving the iridescence in this polish, it flashes from blue to green. It's a great addition :] Never in a million years would I think to put these colors together in a polish, but they look awesome together!

I did 2 coats of kickSTARter, no undies. Again, this had a smooth application and dried quick for a jelly. I thought this one was going to lay thick on the nail, but it didn't! I didn't fish for stars again, managed to get 2 on one a nail again lmfao.

This was my 2nd favorite in the collection. superSTARdom is a dark teal base with turquoise circles, teal hex, silver holo micro glitter, black and silver stars. I'm just a huge freakin' fan of this base and glitter mixture together. The black stars are kinda hard to see with the darker base, but still give a cool "shadow"-like effect.

I did 3 coats of superSTARdom, no undies. The base realllllly reminds me of Zoya Frida! Application was good, and dry time was a little slower than the other 2 but still not half bad. Probably due to the 3 coats on this one. I didn't get any silver stars when swatching, but I did get a few black ones... ON ONE NAIL AGAIN! Hahah whats the dealllllll

You Polish STARdust

THIS was my top pick from the STARjelly collection. It is a total stunner on the nail. STARdust is madeup of a purple base, large purple circles, medium fuchsia circles, purple squares, iridescent squares, small purple and fuchsia hex, fuchsia and silver micro glitter, and pink stars. Ugh, I just love it. I didn't think this was the one I was going to like the most!

I did 2 coats of STARdust, no undies. I was picturing having a harder time with this one for some reason, but nope! Smooth application and the larger glitter was easy to get out. It also had a good try time too. *sigh* so pretty!

You Polish HipSTAR

HipSTAR is a black jelly with silver hex, holo silver squares, micro silver and iridesent glitter, smaller red glitter, holo pink hex, and silver stars. Very punk rock! I see black jelly bases being hard to execute. It seems either its too light and needs a lot of coats, or too dark and the glitter washes out. This one was pretty good, I think Lauren did a good job allowing the colors of the glitter to shine through the dark base.

I did 3 coats, no undies. It had a smooth application and a good dry time. I didn't fish for stars, but I didn't get any :[ I do enjoy the look of this polish, but I kind wish there was more glitter... this seemed to be a little lighter on the glitter than the others. Am I ever satisfied? Hahahaha

And for funzies, I did a little layering!

I love how these 2 polishes look together! I think it's an awesome mix, it's more apparent in real life like you see in the macro shot. STARdust would look cool over HipSTAR, too. So many possibilities ;] Gotta love playin' around with jellies!
