Summer 2015 Paradise Sun Collection
(L->R) Genesis, Mae, Aphrodite, Selene, Oceane, and Isa

Hey guys! Today, I have more bright Summer polishes from Zoya. If you missed last week's post with the creme polishes, Island Fun collection, check 'em out here. Today's half is the Paradise Sun Collection, the sparkly sisters to the Island Fun Collection. Check out the vibrant and sparkly goodness after the jump!

Zoya Genesis

Let's start off with a palate cleanser. Zoya Genesis is a "crystalline white with a micronized metallic pearl finish - designed to look like micro-fine diamond dust".  This is a nice, soft white polish. It isn't harsh like a stark white creme polish would be. I actually like this white on me!

I did 4 coats of Genesis. If my nails were shorter, I probably could of done 2 or 3, my VNL and the curve in my nails required #4. It had a nice smooth application, no sticky white creme formula here. Dry time was alright, but could be worse. I expected that though... it's a white polish and they hate me LOL. If you're needing more than 2 coats, I'd wait a little bit between coats.

Zoya Mae

Next up is Mae, a "warm magenta pink with a micronized metallic pearl finish, reminiscent of vibrant Mediterranean flowers". You can really see the glassfleck pearly sparkle in this one compared to the white. The shimmer is slightly iridescent, too. It's great. If I had to chose one shade of pink to be okay with, it'd be a hot pink :P

I did 3 coats of Mae. I could of done 2 coats if my nails were shorter, it was more opaque than I expected to be honest. No issue with application or dry time with this one.

Zoya Aphrodite

Aphrodite is a "vibrant summer red with a micronized pearl metallic finish and multi-hued flash". Against the bright red, the purple flashing shimmer looks awesome!  I didn't feel like the shimmer was as pronounced as it was in Mae. Loving this red though; it has summer written all over it.

I did 4 coats of Aphrodite. It was a little more sheer than Mae was but was easy to build up. The application was smooth, easy to work with and the dry time gave me no issues.

Zoya Selene

Be still my heart.  Selene is a "true teal with a micronized metallic pearl finish. A unique shade with an aqua fleck that resembles deeper layers of ocean water. Such a lovely teal green. It's so much more sparkly and bright in person - I LOVE IT.

I did 3 coats of Selene. The application was without issues - smooth application and a great dry time. Zoya warns of staining with this one. In about 5-10 minutes time, I did experience a minimal staining. I recommend a base coat for sure if wearing any longer LOL.

Zoya Oceane

Another great color. This is Oceane, a "true turquoise with a micronized metallic pearl finish that reflects the clearest blue ocean waters". Such a gorgeous color. Again, this one is so much more brighter and sparkly in person. You just have to buy it and see :P Totally reminiscent of sparkling waters.

I did 3 coats of Oceane. The application was without problems, easy to work with. Dry time was also great. Zoya doesn't note any staining with this one but I experienced more staining with Oceane than I did with Selene. *shrugs* I'd double base coat just to be safe.

Zoya Isa

Last but not least is Isa. Isa is a "deep blue-based purple with a micronized metallic pearl finish and an aqua flash that embodies the beauty of exotic island flowers". While I don't feel like this polish is super unique (I feel like I have a lot of shimmery blurples), I'm loving the shade purple and the sparkle. It's a great vibrant purple for the summer!

I did 3 coats of Isa. The application was easy to work with and the polish was easy to build up. I didn't run into any issues with dry time or staining.

Again, if you missed the cremes, Island Fun - click here! The cremes collection is still my favorite of the two, but this one does have some great sparkly shades. My top picks are Selene and Oceane, shocked? LMFAO If I wasn't so gung ho about hating pinks, I'd pick Mae as well... but you didn't see me admit that ;]

Have a good one!

  1. You really didn't have any problems with these polishes??? I have had nothing but problems which makes me so sad because the colors are amazing. They are thick and goopy and they never freaking dry. I thought I would try again tonight so I grabbed Aphrodite...I put on a thin base coat of Zoya Anchor followed by 2 coats of Aphrodite followed by Zoya Armor. I gave each layer plenty of dry time but 7 hours later they still smudged and I could scrape it off with my nails because it was still gooey. I have tried using a quick dry top coat and that doesn't help either. I finally gave up and sent Zoya an email tonight. I hate it so bad that these gorgeous colors are unwearable. =(

    1. Aww that's so sad :( I'm sorry you had issues with them. Nope, no problems with these for me (aside from the white dry time being longer). I've been wearing them all summer! I'm sure Zoya will take care of you. They have awesome customer service. <3
