Striped mani inspired by U by Kotex

I don't know about y'all, but during the spring/summer months I feel like there's always something going on. Between hanging out with friends, concerts, hiking, and traveling, the LAST thing I want to worry about is my monthly "visitor" ruining my perfectly planned outfit. Knowing I have to head out of town soon, I grabbed a box of U by Kotex Cleanwear pads with 3D Capture Core technology.

I've been using the Kotex brand for years and they haven't failed me (or my outfits) yet! That's why I've decided to join the ranks to become an #UnderWarrior by saving the undies. Well... mostly my undies hahaha! But you can save YOURS too ;] Find out how at the end of this post!

My mani was inspired by the U by Kotex packaging. Colorful and fun designs make them easy to find in my dark purse. Gotta hand it to Kotex, I'm really diggin' their color scheme! For the stripe manicure I used China Glaze Tree Hugger, Zoya Reagan, Sally Hansen Pacific Blue, and Zoya Mira.

New Years nail art

Happy New Years, everyone! I hope everyone had a great night and 2014 :]

This is the mani I did for New Years Eve. It's a bubbly, mixed metallic gradient.
I used Zoya Willa as the base then I used different sized dotting tools to make the "bubbles".
I used different golds, silvers, and one was an iridescent polish!

Have a great day!

BLOGOWEEN DAY #9: "I, myself, am strange & unusual"

HAPPYYYYYY EFFFFINNN' HALLOWEEEEENNNNNN!!! Sadly it's the last day of Blogoween on Lace & Lacquers. But I saved my most favorite movie for last - Beetlejuice! I can't wait to share it with you :] Don't forget to check the other manis I've done for this Blogoween series - here!

What do you fink? Is anyone else in love with this movie and cartoon like I am? I mostly used Zoya and China Glaze nail polishes and Salon Perfect polishes for the black and white (they're becoming my fave black and white polishes, ya'll!)

So my index finger is a motherfreakin' sandworm.  I probably should of made it smaller or put it on my thumb, but it came out nicer than I thought it would :]

Next is a kinda abstract take on Beetlejuice's suit (more the cartoon version). Had to use Zoya Savita (OBSESSED) for the purple, I mean - DUH.

On my ring finger I did the entrance to the Inferno Room! That scene always cracks me up, so I couldn't of done without it.

Pinky fingahhh, I did Beetlejuice's grave. Sadly, it's not all fancy like his grave stone is, but ya get the idea!

Lastly, probably my favorite part of this mani is my thumb - I did the cover of The Handbook For The Recently Deceased.

#beetlejuice4lyfe

So there ya have it! I'm def rocking this mani' with my Winona Ryder "I am utterly alone" top from Creep Street and my black and white striped maxi skirt from Tarjay. This is my costume LOL!

I really hope you liked this mani! It means a lot to me. If you haven't seen this movie and ya have nothin' to do for Halloween, I highly suggest you check it out! I'm so sad this series is over! I had so much fun doing this, more fun than doing the Christmas thing a few years ago LOL. Don't worry, this series is going to be replaced by a new one :]

BLOGOWEEN DAY #8: Release the Bats

It's the 2nd to last Blogoween mani D: So sad! I won some Halloween themed polishes from Salon Perfect/Nail It Mag and I couldn't not use them today! Don't forget to check the other manis I've done for this Blogoween series - here :]

I wanted to do a gradient mani, wasn't sure how I was going to incorporate it until I got these polishes. I did a gradient with A Royal Affair and Traffic Cone. I tried it without undies, bad idea haha, so I ended up sponging the gradient over Sugar Cube. Plus the undies made it pop 10x more! I was a little deceived, they looked so creamy and vibrant in the bottle I thought they could of stood on their own. Oh well! I then painted on some bats with a detailing brush and used my tiniest dotting tool to give them life/eyes. I'm not 100% happy with this mani, but it came out better than I thought it would :]

Hope you liked my bats! Don't forget to check out the past couple looks I've done for Blogoween - here. Hopefully you have some fun Halloween manis planned, I'd love to see them if I helped inspire them :] Post them to my Facebook!

Stay spooky!

PS: Yes that was a Fall Out Boy/Clandestine Industries reference.

BLOGOWEEN DAY #7: The Graveyard

I hope you really enjoy day #7's mani! I'm super proud of it. I PAINTED A HAND AND IT LOOKS LIKE A HAND GUYS! Don't forget to check the other manis I've done for this Blogoween series - here :]

So what do you think? Are you as proud of me as I am of myself? LOL jk - don't answer that... I know you are ;] Anyways... I saw a kitchen towel at Marshall's yesterday with gravestones and these cute, yet distributing, "names" on them. I decided to run with how much I liked them and slap it (nicely) onto my nails :]

For the grave stones I used China Glaze Recycle. The sky is Kawako. I used my Amuse nail art pen to do the letters. I think the moral of this mani is that you SHOULD NOT hire me to engrave your gravestone. Unless you like toddler handwriting - hit me up. I can't recall the other polishes, but they were 100% Zoya. I did mix 2 Zoya colors to make the zombie hand though :D

So there ya have it! My spooky graveyard scene. I kinda don't want to take this off. NO SWATCHES NEXT WEEK Y'ALL! Just kidding... Kinda... Don't forget to check out the past couple looks I've done for Blogoween - here.

Happy FRIDAY!

BLOGOWEEN DAY #6: Random Halloween Designs

Here's Day 6 of Blogoween! I did something a little simpler this time since the last 3 were a little bit more time consuming :P Don't forget to check the other manis I've done for this Blogoween series - here :]

I did a few various designs, they're simple but fun! These can be executed using a detailing brush and a dotting tool :] I used Sinful Colors Citrine as the base (one of my favorite oranges) and Black on Black for the designs.  For some reason the black bled under the orange on my thumb nail. NO idea why that happened since that didn't happen to the other nails, I tried to cover it up but it wasn't happening - WHATEVER! You get the point.

Don't forget to check out the past couple looks I've done for Blogoween - here. Hope you enjoyed this design, I thought it was fun :] I think it would look cool over various Halloweenie colors or a gradient!

Ciao!

BLOGOWEEN DAY #4: Fancy Severed Body Parts

It's day numero 4 of Blogoween, ya'll! Ran with this idea on a whim and I'm happy with how it came out! Don't forget to check the other manis I've done for this Blogoween - here :]

So today's mani features a black base adorned with freshly spooned out colorful eyeballs from different creatures. In addition, there were some just manicured fingers that happened to get sliced off as well. Not sure why, but they seemed appropriate for this mani bahahahah! I thought this would be a fun take on something usually pretty gory :P I used mostly all Zoya polishes besides the black and white, Sinful Colors.

They eye balls were created with different sizes of dotting tools. The fingers were done with a detailing brush and dotting tools. The easiest way to create the fingers was to create a circle for the base of the finger and then draw it from there. I added the nails with white before painting them with Zoya Lara. Once you've put the nails on, it's a good gauge for where you need to add more "meat" to the fingers :]

Don't forget to check out my other Blogoween manis to conjure up some wicked mani ideas for the 31st! In the mean time I'm going to start brainstormin' for Friday!

Have a good one!
