Holiday Snow Nail Art

Holiday Snow Nail Art

I haven't been able to get the idea of a sponged on snow "French manicure" layered with a ton of different glitters out of my head, so I finally did it. I really wasn't feeling green or red this year for some reason. I can't decide if this looks like a magical, sparkling snow day (I've never had a snow day soooo I'm just guessing here LOL) or a pretty, glittery snow globe!

Macro Shot: Holiday Snow Nail Art

I applied a light base coat of Finger Paints Sparkle Top Coat (a super oldie but a goodie iridescent micro glitter in a clear base) and then lightly sponged on the "tips" with Zoya Snow White. I actually ran out of makeup sponges I used for nail art after 8 years, so I reached for a regular 'ol dish sponge. I think the pore size of the dish sponge actually made it look more like snow than a makeup sponge would have created, which is more apt for a more solid nail art look. I think the dish sponge created the light and fluffy look I was going for.

Next, I haphazardly and lightly layered on scattered silver holographic top coat: Hungry Asian Dream Car. Then I layered on Essie As Gold As It Gets (a clear base packed with small gold flakies, I highly recommend this polish if you can still get your hands on it!) followed by Zoya Dallas ("clear base with silver glitter, large white hexagonal glitter, and small white glitter running throughout").

I think the combo of all those glitter toppers makes it JUST busy enough to make it visually interesting without being over the top. This nail art idea also looked great without the glitter top coats too.

Happy Holidays, y'all!

Halloween Skull Stamping Nail Art

Pin It Halloween is SO CLOSE! Even though we may not be celebrating Halloween as we "normally" do, spooky nails are always a must do for the spooky season. 😊

Zoya Amy stamped with Polish & Co Opposite Of White
Zoya Amy stamped with Polish & Co Opposite Of White

I love how Zoya Amy's shimmer shines through the dark black polish. I used Polish & Co.'s Opposite of White, which is my ALL TIME favorite black.

I can't tell you the last time I stamped my nails, but GEEZE what a difference using a clear stamper makes compared to the ones when I first started blogging! It's SO much easier to line up and place the pattern on your nail. Really takes out the guess work or needing to gently remove the pattern to redo it haha.

CH49 Cheeky Plate

I used the skull print from the Cheeky CH49 stamping plate. I also used a stamper from Uber Chic Beauty that I bought maybe 2-3 years ago. I have the XL Clear Short, XL Clear Tall, and the XL Clear Stamper Head with Ring Holder and they are all FANTASTIC! No sponsored, I purchased them myself. Their customer service is also great to work with.

I hope to get some more nail art in before the end of the month, but we'll see!

Have a Spooky Day,

Pride 2020 Rainbow Nail Art

Rainbow Gradient French Manicure

Happy LGBTQ Pride Month, y'all!

I randomly came across an IG post of the rainbow mani I did for the San Diego Pride parade a few years ago, and decided to re-create them in a different way! Soooooo... I did a quick and easy rainbow French mani. I used vinyl stripes to get a clean line (which, I guess over time lose their stickiness haha it was not fun!) and cosmetic sponges to apply the polish in a gradient effect.

I used Butter London x Allure in Nude Stilettos as my sheer base the following polishes:
Red: Zoya Sooki (not pictured, it's on my thumb with pink haha)
Pink: Zoya Kristie
Orange: Zoya Cam
Yellow: Zoya Pippa (THE BEST YELLOW EVER!)
Green: Color Club Wild Cactus (I think, it has no label)
Blue: Zoya Maren
Purple: Zoya Jessica

There's a sneak peek of Kristie, Maren, and Jessica. Those I'll have up on the blog shortly, they were just too good not to use for this rainbow mani.

"Pride is celebrated in June to commemorate the Stonewall Uprising of 1969,
where folx in the queer community fought back against a police raid at the Stonewall Inn
in New York City. The uprising was a catalyst for the LGBTQIA+ rights movement in America"

COLOR CLUB: Neon Stained Glass Nail Art

Pin It Hope everyone is doing well, staying healthy, and slightly sane during this situation of a pandemic. I've seen a lot of cool "stained glass" painted windows and doors (like this! I don't know this blogger, but thought I'd pass the idea along in case someone hasn't seen it!).

As tempted as I am to paint my huge sliding glass patio doors, live in an apartment who would probably freak out if I painted it  even if it's temporary haha. So, I decided the second best thing would be to paint my nails (obviously). I had an idea for a ton of random colors but was gravitated to some Color Club neons in my collection.

Neon Color Club stained glass inspired nail art
Neon Color Club stained glass inspired nail art

I really like how this came out! The mix of a neutral cream polish and neon has always been visually intriguing to me. Plus a little color right now goes a long way.

I couldn't find my striping tape, I think I threw it away out of frustration, so I just used a striping brush to create the random triangular shapes. As much as I'd prefer a full mani, my nail art skills are a little rusty so 4 nails took forever (I did my right hand too haha).

The colors I used were Color Club: Barely There (neutral/nude), Foxy Mama (neon orange with gold shimmer), Not-So-Mellow Yellow (florescent yellow shimmer), Peace, Love, & Polish (hot pink with gold shimmer), and a no-name bright blue (I think it's name is Endless Summer).

Barely There took a really long time to dry for some reason, which really backfired in layering the neons over it... causing it to take forever to dry. Even with my Zoya/Qtica drying drops, I couldn't get the art to dry until the next day - WHOOPS! As much as I love this neutral, I think I'm going to have to trash it. Still enjoying this mani, even if it has some sheetmarks lmao *facepalm*

Have a great day!

Holiday Snowflake Nail Art

Merry Christmas/Happy Holidays, to all my wonderful readers!

This mani was created using OPI Don't Mess With OPI. I used a fan brush to add a gradient with Zoya Leia (NEW - swatch comin' soon!) and Finger Paints Sparkle Top Coat. I used Sinful Colors Snow Me White and Polish & Co. Opposite of White (still an all time fave!) and stamped on some snowflakes using Winstonia plate W120.

I like this because it's "festive" but not in your face HOLIIIIIDAYYYY!

Hope you are having a wonderful holiday, or just a dang good winter, season with family, friends, and food <3

Love,

Spider, Frankenstein, Witch Hat and Pumpkin Nail Art

Halloween is coming, y'all! TEN DAYS! Crazy talk. I wanted to share a Halloween themed at least once this month. A few years ago I did a design with baby ghosts. I wanted to recreate that with different Halloween themed designs.

What I like about these designs is that they were all created with various size dot tools and on nail art brush, easy peasy! Even better is that you could totally make these anyyyyy size you want :] If you'd like to learn how I created these designs I've added step-by-step directions after the jump.

Neon Pink Ombre Dotticure

Pin It I know, I know! It's been awhile since I've posted, especially for nail art. Long story short: quit my job, started a new work at home job. So since I'm no longer wasting time sitting in traffic or planning extra drive time, I'm hoping to get back into the swing of things. I know I used to post 5 days a week, I'm going to set myself up for realistic expectations and aim for ONCE a week. :]

Neon Pink Ombre Dotticure Supplies

I've done 2 dotticures in my lifetime. They are one of my favorite types of nail art, simple but still unique with so many color options! I've been waiting to wear some HOT pink polish, but I didn't feel like committing to into 10 bright-ass nails haha. So I thought I'd do a pink dotticure :] Check out my design after the jump!
