BUTTER LONDON: Two Fingered Salute

Pin It Soooooooooooo it's Tuessssssday....

 Butter London Two Fingered Salute

I got this lovely little Butter London on my doorstep yesterday morning and I could not wait to share this with you guys! Forgive me if my hands look a tad bit red (hopefully they just look red to me! they're still healing from the other day! *sigh*), I never edit my photos and I never will.

Hope you enjoy these swatches!

I saw The Lacquerologist post this picture of a bottle of Butter London Two Fingered Salute on Facebook. Without even seeing swatches I was like, "ummm yeahhh I'm going to NEED that" and quickly ordered it from Nordstrom's website. I had a feeling it would sell out but not as fast as it did!

Here's my bottle shot:

Is that not the prettiest thing in a bottle you've ever seen? Here's some swatches:

I also tried it with the matte top coat I got from the Coterie $11 deal:

Can I start off by saying this is the MOST unique mainstream polish mix I've purchased all year. For a good chunk of the year (I'd say about 6 months) I only purchased Indies specifically because of how unique they are. I cannot tell you how much I LOVELOVELOVELOVE this! Also, how awesome is the name haha. For those unfamiliar with the British term "two fingered salute", it is pretty much equivalent to giving someone the middle finger here in the US.

Butter London describes Two Fingered Salute as: "a muted, patinaed green-creme with copper micro-glitter". Yup, that's it. In case you're curious about the word "patinaed", I was and so was spell check: "Having a coating, covering, or sheen; patinated. Used especially to describe the corrosive green layer that forms on copper and its alloys." Hmm, don't you hate when they use the word in the definition? LOL

WELL, crazy words and all - it's gorgeous. I did 2 coats of Two Fingered Salute. The formula was smooth and dried quickly, like I'm used to with Butter London. I was also happy I didn't have to mix the glitter and that it all showed up the nail pretty and smooth! I used one coat of Seche Vite and one coat of Butter London Matte Finish in the swatches. I really love the look of this polish, I prefer top coat over matte, it's just pretty! Inside at night, I was looking at my nails  and it looks like a slate grey color. Even that look of the polish was pretty! I have a feeling I will be wearing this a lot... or storing it on my shelf because I'm too scared to use it LOL

So... this polish, you want it? Ugh, the bad news. It's a Nordstrom Exclusive, meaning only Nords is going to sell it, knock on wood. It is sold out online right now BUT you can pick up the other two exclusive colors (No Billy Mates and Stag Do) online. These polishes ARE stocked in some stores, that's where The Lacquerologist got hers and I've seen some others get it there, too. I am not sure if they are restocking online, there's a rumor that Nordstrom employees are telling customers they won't be. So I guess we'll see... So, if you want to call and see if there is a Two Fingered Salute in stock near you, or near a friend who can pick one up, you can find the store locator: here.

If you're going to hunt for it - good luck!

Until tomorrow,

  5. I just looked at this polish on the Nordies site and it's listed as backordered, with an estimated ship date of Oct. 20. So it WILL be back in stock online, but we'll be waiting a while haha.

  6. Your pictures are great. I had seen other swatches of this polish, and I didn't give them a second look. Your review and pictures really bring out the polish's beauty!
