Make Up Your Face (L->R) A Heart on Fire, Fall into Autumn, and Pumpkin Mash

Well, I got a few fall themed polishes for you guys today from Makeup Your Face! :] Although I've never experienced a TRUE fall, being from Houston and now living in Charleston, I still like fall themed stuffs and colors!

Jump over! I got swatches and reviews!

Here's a few yummy bottle swatches for you:

First up is A Heart on Fire:

A Heart on Fire is a yellow jelly base with orange, yellow and red matte glitters! Oh you kjnow what's awesome about this? Each bottle contains ONE red heart. Aww how sweet :] You can see the red heart on my pointer finger, near the tip. And nooo I didn't have to dig it out, LOL as much as I wanted to it came out "naturally".

Here I layered it over another color:

Ok, so the above picture was kinda a dumb move on my part LOL I didn't think about the tinted base and just layered it. I still like how it looks though! I did 2 coats of A Heart on Fire over Street Chic by China Glaze. If you're going to layer this over another color, I'd keep in mind the base of A Heart on Fire

The application was alright, a little thick but not too horrible to work with. If you are planning to layer this over it's self (like the 1st set of pictures), give it some dry time so you don't end up with sliding polish. For me, Seche Vite DID cut the dry time of A Heart on Fire layered over itself.

Next is Fall into Autumn:

I think this is my favorite one out of the trio, it reminds me of fall leaves! Fall into Autumn has brown hex, red and yellow shards and orange micro glitter. So pretty and so fall :] I did 1 coat of Fall into Autumn over China Glaze Trendsetter. Application and drying time were good. There was no need to dip and dab the glitter, a few brush strokes to even out but, great glitter coverage.

Last but not least! Pumpkin Mash:

Not trying to be rude to any of the other Indies out there, but there are a few polishes out there put out for Halloween that are super unique. This is one of them. Pumpkin Mash is made up of gold, orange and black bar glitter, black large hex, white medium hex and sheer neon green large hex glitters. I did 3 coats over Zoya Suri to make it look super Halloween :] There was a little bit of work to this polish, but the end result is worth it! LOVE this glitter. Before you use it, I recommend that you swirl the brush around to grab the glitters easier before application. I'd also keep in mind dry time as you layer, of course!

I know a lot of people have issues with bar glitter sticking up, here's something I do to keep that from happening! I call it the "pat down method". Basically when the clear base is almost dry, but still tacky, I take my finger and lightly press down any pieces that are sticking up. Then, I usually do 2 coats of Seche Vite to keep them from popping up again and snagging on stuff!

  2. Tee hee. I do the same thing with curly bar glitter! If it's UBER curly, I might just pick it off with a pair of tweezers, otherwise I push it down during the 'tacky' phase and top coat the heck out of it.

Ah, the sacrifices we make for our polish. ;)
