BORN PRETTY STORE: QJ-1034 Nail Wraps + BP-57 Stamping Plate

Born Pretty Store QJ-1034 Nail Wraps

HAPPY HUMP DAYYYYY! Today I have some nail wrap sticker things from Born Pretty Store. Funny story, I have zero interest in football but I chose this sticker set because of the stripe designs LOL.

Born Pretty Store BP-57 plate and QJ-1034 Nail Wraps

I had a kind of punk rock idea in my head, but I lost it because I didn't write it down *facepalm* so I paired it with the stamping plate, BP-57, I did not review the other day (posted here). I think they ended up working out nicely together! I wish the dark green stripe was black, which I thought it was when I ordered, but it works.

(I also thought that I received all the images shown on the listing, but you have to choose which style you want - OOPS! Kind of sad because I totally was digging those eyeballs haha)

The stickers were very easy to work with. If you're familiar with the Sally Hansen nail polish strips, they're about the same quality as those.  The images printed on them were well done and the lines were crisp.

I did have issues with these stickers staying down on my nails, you can see the small folds on the sides of my nails. I later fixed them (sorry I forgot to take a picture!) the way I fix the Sally Hansen ones when they do that, smooth them out very, very CAREFULLY with a brush dipped in acetone.

Don't forget, you can also get a 10% discount on any order using my discount code, LACJ61, and Born Pretty Store always offers FREE shipping!

What do you think of this interesting mani I created? hahaha It's a little different from my norm but I think the designs played well with each other.

Love ya!

GLAM MY MANI: Azetec & Mini Chevron Nail Vinyls

Glam My Mani Nail Vinyls

Andddd we're back! With more nail vinyl nail art thanks to Glam My Mani. I reviewed the first half of swirls and such last week - here. This week I have Aztec designs, Mini Chevrons, and Arrows - oh my! Check out what I did with 'em out down below.

Glam My Mani Aztec Designs nail vinyls

Part of the Aztec designs, I used the triangles strip to create a funky french mani with Polish & Co The Opposite of White and a base of Color Club Barely There. Added a little somethin extra by dotting Sally Hansen Liquid Gold at the base of my nail.

Glam My Mani Aztec Designs nail vinyls

Again, I used the Aztec designs sheet for this mani. The base coat is Pure Ice Dollface. I used 2 of the blocked pyramids along with Sally Hansen Pacific Blue and China Glaze Turned Up Turquoise. Finally, on my accent nail I used the arrow stencil and did a gradient to match :]

Glam My Mani Mini Chevron Nail Vinyls

Last but not least, I created this mani using the Mini Chevrons nail vinyls. I used a base of Orly Harmonious Mess and then layered The Hungry Asian Dream Car for the sparkly chevrons. Soft but sparkly! These are the only vinyls I had an issue with. I think because they're so thin, they had a hard time sticking to my nail. Not sure, but they didn't want to cooperate haha.

These were a lot of fun! I really, really enjoyed the Aztec designs sheet. I love how it came with 4 different designs to use. Again, if you want to see the Swirl, Wavy Line and Heart vinyls, check out my last post - here.

Love,

YOU POLISH: Christmas Decals

You Polish Nail Decals

It's almost Christmas! Today I have a bunch of manis I created using You Polish's Christmas themed decals. Check them out below :]

Holly Berry themed decal nail art

I used the You Polish holly leaf decals on an accent nail with Zoya Chyna as the berries! I used 4 coats of Zoya Seraphina as the base color.

Christmas decal nail art

These You Polish Christmas decals remind me of cookies and cookie cutters! So I placed them on a white creme polish, Zoya Logan and China Glaze With Love. Then I used China Glaze I'm Not Lion and put some dots in the blank space.

Winter tree Christmas nail art

For this mani I used Zoya Robyn and a white creme to create a sky-like gradient. Then I placed some of You Polish's Christmas tree decals. Then I used a dotting tool to "pile up" snow in front of the trees and then dotted some falling snow in the sky.

Christmas tree and decal ornament nail art

I used a few different green polishes from Zoya and China Glaze for this manicure. I used a dotting tool to create a layered tree effect. Then, I used the You Polish silver Christmas ornament decals and hung them on the "tree".

Christmas ornament decal/stencil nail art

Last but not least, I used the You Polish white ornament decals as stencils. I used Killer Queen Varnish Reindeer Games/Deck the Halls as the base and layered Zoya Logan over. It didn't photograph as awesome as it looked but it was a fun idea :]

YOU POLISH: Custom Decals

Hope you're not tired of decals hahah because I have more for you today! Except, these are used as decals instead of stencils because they're a little more intricate in comparison to what I reviewed in the last week.

Lauren of You Polish asked me for ideas and my response was "unicorns, llamas, grumpy cat, and peace signs" and BAM these arrived in my mailbox! So let me share them with you :]

You Polish Unicorn and Cloud Decals

For the unicorn and cloud mani, I used a tie dye plastic bag effect I saw on Instagram (I forget who posted it haha). Basically all you do is put dots of polish on the bag, fold it into each other and smush it against your nail. I used Zoya Rocky, Sinful Colors Lavender, and Revlon Minted. Then I applied the unicorns and magical clouds! For more detailed designs, I recommend using some needle nose tweezers to apply.

You Polish Peace Sign Decals

I was most excited for the peace sign decals! I don't know about you, but I suck butt at drawing circles - with pen or polish. I applied the peace sign over white, filled it in with SquareHue Nantucket (one of my favorite polishes!) then used a dotting tool to make some groovy little flowers. Then, I bordered my nail in Nantucket. I kinda wish I just did a crapton more flowers - oh well! The remaining nails I polished with Nantucket and then topped with Orly Be Brave.

You Polish Monogram Decal

For this mani, I used the monogram decal. I painted my nails with Sinful Colors Grecian Sun and topped it with a Rainbow Honey LE, Heisenberg. Then as an accent nail, I painted my middle finger with Zoya Rocha and applied the monogram decal. I won't lie - this wasn't the easiest decal to place. Mostly because it's in 3 pieces and you have to line it up juuuuust right. Again, needle nose tweezers came in handy!

You Polish Grumpy Cat Decals

I saved the best for last. If you know - or don't know - I have a slllllllllight obsession with Grumpy Cat. I mean, she's on my Facebook cover and my business cards. I was super stoked to have some grumpy decals! I did do a Grumpy Cat mani in the past, and it took a good chunk of time... mostly because I suck at doing animals and people artistically.

I used Tard as a stencil here. I think it looked nicer than the decal itself. Lauren said it was hard to make since all the parts have to be connected, so the eyes were difficult. So - I painted my nail white, top coated it to dry it faster, applied the Grump, polished with SquareHue Swahili Charm, waited until it was tacky and then removed the decal with my tweezers. For the rest of my mani, I polished it with Zoya Sooki and applied the "NO" decals.

Lauren has some fun and unique decals/stencils if you're in the market for some. I had no issues applying these. They're not as flexy as the ones from Glam My Mani but they are easy to use. I really appreciate the detail in her decals.

GLAM MY MANI: Nail Vinyl Review Part II [French Tips, Single Chevrons & Mini Chevrons]

Glam My Mani Nail Vinyls

Good afternoon! Today I have the 2nd part of my Glam My Mani review :] If you missed my review and designs from part I, you can find them here! Check out how I used the French Tip, Single Chevron, and Mini Chevron nail vinyls:

Glam My Mani Mini Chevron Nail Vinyls

In this mani, I used the Mini Chevron Nail Vinyls. I painted my nails with Sinful Colors Violet Voltage, applied the vinyls and then alternated filling in the blanks with Sinful Colors Sterling Silver and Purple Alloy. As you can see I still need some practice at removing these haha. It seemed like the Color Foils were kinda hard to work with when pulling off the vinyl. I did get 2 out of 2 nails lookin' fine though! HIGH FIVE LACEY!

Glam My Mani Single Chevron Nail Vinyls

Next, I used the Single Chevron Nail Vinyls to create this negative space mani. I applied a base coat (So the stamping would stick to my nail), applied the vinyl, stamped the lower half, cleaned up the overflow, then painted the rest of my nail with Zoya Charisma (which if you don't own - you should). I used Vivid Lacquer plate VL006 and then used China Glaze Tongue & Chic and a dotting tool for accents. I was going to fill in the space where the decal was, but I ended up really enjoying the space being all nakie!

Glam My Mani French Tip Nail Vinyls

Last but not least are the French Tip Nail Vinyls. I started off with a base of OPI Steady As She Rose and then applied the vinyl to create a French tip. From there, I filled in the space with Shimmer Polish Wendy. Then, I decided I wanted to add a kind of, half-moonish shape using the French Nail decals at the base of my nail. At first I didn't like it, then it grew on me LOL what do ya think?

I hope these posts gave you ideas of how you can use your nail vinyls to create some fun manis! The best advice I can give is to experiment with them. They're a fun, quick, and easy way to spice up any mani.

Overall, I really enjoyed these nail vinyls! I've used a few brands here and there in the past and I felt like these were more flexible and easy to work with. Again, if you missed Part I - you can find it here :]

Have a great weekend!

GLAM MY MANI: Nail Vinyl Review Part I [Stripes, Wavy, Lightning Bolts, & Chevrons]

Glam My Mani Nail Vinyls

Back to nails! I recently shared a giveaway for some nail vinyls from Glam My Mani! They saw I shared and asked if I'd like to review a few on my blog. I can always use more practice with vinyl decals haha. Today I'm reviewing half of the decals. Hope you enjoy the manis I came up with :]

Glam My Mani Stripe Nail Vinyls

For the Stripe Nail Vinyls mani, I sponged on a gradient using Revlon Electrified Web and Spidey Sense (PS: Shout out to Steph for sendin' me these Spiderman polishes!!!). Then, I applied the stripes and did the same gradient in the reverse. I must say, striped vinyls are 10x easier than doing stripes on your own or dealing with freakin' striping tape. Striping tape is da devil.

Glam My Mani Wavy Line Nail Vinyls

For my Wavy Line Nail Vinyl mani, I firs applied Sally Hansen Color Foil Sterling Silver, applied the nail vinyl and then applied China Glaze Keep Calm Paint On. Then, to match the silver polish I added some clear rhinestones! Not 100% sure I like this, I stared at it for awhile and I couldn't decide LOL. I do think these vinyls would be fun for like a drippy ice cream cone mani though!

Glam My Mani Lightning Bold Nail Vinyls

I've been wantin to try some nail vinyls in this shape, but I felt so awkward trying to use them LOL There's SO many different angles to use these Lightning Bolt Nail Vinyls. I'm kinda lol-ing in my head because they look like Z's and I used all Zoya polishes here hahahahha. Anyways, I used the Lightning Bold Nail Decals by applying them over Zoya Wendy and painting on Zoya Ling and Muse. Then, I went back with a striping brush and added a skinnier Z shape with Zoya Harper. I really like how this turned out!

Glam My Mani Chevron Nail Vinyls

Ahhh, the ever so popular Chevron Nail Vinyls! I uploaded this mani the other day. I used Zoya Raven and then did a tie dye design using the Color Club Poptastic Collection. Sadly, when I went to the beach, playin with the dog and digging in the sand gave me some pretty nice tip wear! But have no fear! I could easily save my tie dye design I worked so hard on by covering up the gross parts with the Chevron Nail Vinyls. All I did was apply them and then polished on some more Zoya Raven. Wham, bam, thank ya, ma'am!

SINFUL COLORS Anemone & BORN PRETTY STORE Bow Water Decals

Sinful Colors Anemone and Born Pretty Store water slide decals

Hey there, stranger! Today I have two product reviews in one post, reviewception? I recieved Sinful Colors Anemone from PINCHme and some cute bow water slide decals from Born Pretty Store to review for ya'll. Check out what I think below :]

Sinful Colors Anemone
Sinful Colors Anemone
Sinful Colors Anemone
Sinful Colors Anemone is an orange coral creme polish. Funny thing is, I wanted this polish and I probably put it down 2-3 times at Walgreens! Soooo I'm happy I received it to review. This color is awesome, fun, bright and perfect for summer.

I know not everyone is a fan of Sinful Colors but I love to work with these polishes. Their formulas are usually pretty great and I love using them for undies and in nail art :] For $2, these polishes always exceed my expectations. I did 2 coats of Anemone. I had no issues with application or dry time. I wore it for 3 days (with Seche Vite) and I had 0 tip wear.

Sinful Colors Anemone and Born Pretty Store water slide decals
Sinful Colors Anemone and Born Pretty Store water slide decals

I decided to add one of the bow water slide decals from Born Pretty Store. The blue bow looked great against the bright polish. I added some yellow and blue polka dots to compliment the bow on my accent nail. I think it came out pretty freakin' cute! :] What do you think?

Like the bows? You can find them here! They're usually $2.86 but they're currently on sale for 25% off at $2.15 a sheet. If you're interested in how to apply water slide decals from Born Pretty Store check out my previous post - here.

You can also get a 10% discount using my discount code, LACJ61, and Born Pretty Store always offers FREE shipping!

If you're interested in PINCHme, the program I got the Sinful Colors polish through, you can sign up here! They have a lot of different samples to try, and they go fast... so you gotta act quick! This program is not for bloggers only, btw :]
