Nail Art Week, Day #2: Bows & Stripes Manicure

Pin It I'm on my own personal quest to become better at nail art. And in order to become better, I need practice! Since I have no one to practice on, I have to practice on myself. SOOOO this week, I am replicating a bunch of designs I saw online and I also am going to include step by step instructions on how YOU can replicate them!

NAIL ART WEEK, DAY 2:

How to, supplies and MORE pictures after the jump!

Now, THIS is how I wish I could do more nail art. This started as an idea in MY mind. I knew I wanted bows, but just went with the flow of things as I went. I'm really happy with how this came out, I might even do this again :P

INGREDIENTS:
- Sinful Colors Snow Me White
- China Glaze First Mate
- China Glaze Ruby Pumps
- Zoya Sooki
- Revlon ColorStay Stiletto
- MAC Immortal Gold
- Striping brush
- Smaller round brush

STEP 1: Paint your nails white. This was 2 coats of Snow Me White by Sinful Colors.

STEP 2: Make medium size dots in the upper center of your nail. I used Zoya Sooki, my favorite red. My dots aren't all the same *le sigh*, we'll get there!

STEP 3: Draw 2 lines away from the center of the circle on a diagonal and then fill it in. They should look like triangles!

STEP 4: Take your smaller rounder brush and outline the triangles and center circle of the bows in black, I used Revlon ColorStay Stiletto. If you want to you can add some smaller lines on the side of the bows to give them more dimension.

STEP 5: You don't have to but, I added China Glaze Ruby Pumps in the center circle of the bow. I wanted a little more "sparkle" haha.

STEP 6: Draw vertical lines on your nails with China Glaze First Mate. And then with MAC Immortal Gold shadow the navy lines.

Here is your final result!

What do ya think of this?! I was so in love with it and slightly depressed when I had to take it off to do other nail art for the week. It's cute but not TOO cute! As a navy wife, I really dig the navy and gold stripes. I almost didn't add the gold but I was super glad after I did!

Hopefully with time I'll get better with bows so they look the same size haha. Would this be something you would try? Same colors or what other color ideas do you have? :]

More nail art tomorrow, I hope you enjoyed today!

Until next time,
Lacey
